The Recorder Ensemble students have been challenging themselves to play Staff Wars at the highest level: 100 notes on Speed 5. If a note is slightly out of tune, it won’t be recognised and there is NO MERCY!

No Rehearsals May 17 and May 24
Mrs Ruscoe will be on Long Service Leave from May 12 until May 30.
There will be no rehearsals for Recorder Ensemble or Band on May 17 or May 24.
ASME Recorder Festival
On Tuesday, the Recorder Ensemble participated in the ASME Recorder Festival. Over 100 recorder players joined to make a huge ensemble, playing pieces in 4 part harmony. We were led by John Heyworth, who composed many of the pieces we played. Each school presented an item in the final concert. Here are some oics of Glengarry students playing ‘Big Band Breakdown’.

Five Sizes of Recorder!
This week, we added bass recorder to the Recorder Ensemble for our piece, Double Trouble. This means we had 5 different sizes of instrument: sopranino, descant, treble (alto), tenor and bass.
