Today’s Band session was just a small group, so we got the ukes out and learnt a song which helps to remember the names of the strings.

No SIM Tue 7 and Wed 8 June
Parents and students are reminded that there will be no SIM lessons on Tuesday 7 June and Wednesday 8 June, as SIM teachers will be attending PD.
Band will be on as usual on Tuesday.
No Rehearsals May 17 and May 24
Mrs Ruscoe will be on Long Service Leave from May 12 until May 30.
There will be no rehearsals for Recorder Ensemble or Band on May 17 or May 24.
Rehearsing with Duncraig SHS Band for the Duncraig PS Fete (Sun 29 Nov)
No Band in Week 10
There will be no Band rehearsal on Monday, September 21. The first rehearsal for Term 4 will be on Monday, October 12.
Our performance with Duncraig SHS Band at the Duncraig PS Fete will be from 10.45am on Sunday, November 29.

There will be no Band rehearsal on Monday 30 March.
The first rehearsal for Term 2 will be on the first day back, Monday 20 April.

Band has started!
If you’re passing by Duncraig PS after school on a Monday, you may hear the sounds of our beginner SIM students at Band. We have learnt 3 notes each, on 6 kinds of instruments, and it’s all coming together nicely.
Duncraig & Glengarry 2015 Band: second rehearsal EVER.
The aim at the moment is to get the instrument to play the note we thought it would play, then work on getting good tone quality and playing in tune.

Brass new time
Mr Keatch, our Brass tutor, has advised that Brass lessons will now be on Thursdays at 8.30am in the Music Room.
SIM Lessons
Instrumental Music School Services, referred to as SIM (School of Instrumental Music) provides group lessons on Flute, Clarinet and Brass to selected students in Year 6.
Times are as follows:
Flute – Thursdays 9.15am with Ms Stewart
Clarinet – Thursdays 1pm with Ms Newnham
Brass – Thursdays 8.30am with Mr Keatch
SIM students participate in Band rehearsals at Duncraig Primary School on Mondays from 3-3.45pm.
