The next Community Song is Tribal Voice (words and music by Mandaway Yunupingu and Yothu Yindi, originally released by Mushroom Music Pty Ltd). We will be singing the version published in ABC Sing Book 2000 (Australian Broadcasting Commission 2000) in which a few of the original lyrics have been modified. Here is a note about the song, taken from the book:

“Tribal Voice” is the title track from Yothu Yindi’s second album, which featured the worldwide hit, “Treaty”. Yothu Yindi is made up of both Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal musicians, and they promote the sharing of cultures. Their blend of modern rock and indigenous music has created a unique sound.
